Merlin was brain damaged shortly after birth, so doesn't really know he's a cat, even though he's been bought up with his mate a grey tabby who's 12 and has tried to shown him how Cats are supposed to act. Merlin didn't like going out, and would only go out in the garden when his other mates, a german shepherd a maltese cross and a yorkie went out in the garden. Other than that he was a real house cat, a bit frightened of his own shadow, he'd rather curl up with our pet rats than eat them! He has an insatiable appetite he's always hungry, and eats anything Sponge cakes in particular! yep he's been known to devour a 9inch sponge complete with rasberry jam and butter icing! He loves to "Hug you" ie he would put his front paws around your neck and really push into you, or he would stroke you with his paw until you took notice of him. But you couldn't "Make a fuss" of him as he would suddenly lash out and bite really hard drawing blood, we think this goes back to when his ex owner fell on the litter of kittens, and its from this that Merlin was brain damged. he would regularly take on our GSD if he wanted to sleep where she was! My son has been sleeping with me down stairs so we can hear the door go, as Merlin would scratch at the door like a dog to come in, as his size meant he could not fit through the cat door like our other cat and 2 small dogs. Our other cat is really missing him, so are the family.
Merlin isn't the easiest Pussy cat to live with but we dearly love and miss him, We have the scars to prove it! our GSD has taken to trying to rush out the front door each time someone knocks, and she's not eating as well as she should. Our other cat is mooching around the house meowing and won't go outside unless he's really desperate, and he's taken residence on our sons bed or with our son, as merlin was our son's cat, though bought for My hubby, our yorkie didn't stand a chance if Merlin wanted to sleep there! Please if you have seen him, even if its bad news, let us know, the not knowing is soo hard to bear. We all love him so much!
