Bart
loves to spend the day in the house following me around or sleeping on his special sheepskin rug next to my bed. He's a very playful boy and loves to get into boxes and bags and then pounce when you least
expect it!

He likes to hunt for rabbits & mice or anything else that moves! He liked to go over the fence into the hedgerow and across to the building site which is being built on a huge meadow and do his hunting, often bringing home his 'catch'.

He went out in the evening of Tuesday 5th September, I was away on holiday and my parents were catsitting, I returned from holiday in the early hours of Wednesday 6th September and he hasn't been home since he left on the night of the 5th.

The builders on the building site had put down new foundations and erected fencing on 6th September this has disorientated Bart and he is now running around lost on the building site and in the meadow and seems to be frightened of everyone. I have been going over to the building site every morning and evening and have seen him several times, but each time he runs away.

I have mailed all the houses in and around the building site and have put up posters around the area as well as in the local school and the sales office at the building site. I have also approached anyone out walking their dogs showing them photos and asking them to keep looking. The nighttime security guard at the building site has also been very active in the search for Bart and always telephones me when he sees him and I then go over to try and coax him but he seems scared and always runs away. It's very difficult to see anything after dark as the area is unlit.

One of the houses on the new estate informed me that Bart had wandered into his house on Saturday 16th September at around 2pm, but he had shooed him out not realising he was lost. I have been putting food down daily on the building site, which sometimes gets eaten and sometimes doesn't, but I don't know if it's my cat that is eating it as it seems to be a very popular place
for lots of cats to hang-out. Bart only comes out once the workmen have gone and by that time it is getting dark!

"Bart is much loved, we hand reared him from 3 weeks old when his mother disappeared. He is such a special cat to us and we miss him desperately. I really would be grateful for any help at all to bring him home again."
Bart is in a bit of a sticky situation , running around with 2 major roads nearby - therefore it is essential that he is kept in the area which means that anyone seeing him must not try to catch him or chase him. Rather contact his owner immediately. He is very frightened and will need someone who knows him, to entice him home.

Having said that, he has made use of a couple of catflaps nearby - if he visits you, please encourage him and again contact his owner.

We have a POSTER you may send for - either for display or for reference.
