Rupert lives in a small village in a rural area. His house is situated on a quiet lane, which is the Pennine Way, that is used by more dog walkers and ramblers than traffic.

Rupert is an independent mature cat who has a large territory in the surrounding gardens, fields and woods. He spends a lot of time outdoors and is a keen hunter. He gets on well with people and is often very vocal. He has lived here ever since he was three months old and he has never been away from home for more than 24 hours.

For the first four years of his life he lived with Oliver, who was also a British Blue, but he died aged 15 last November. He now lives with Maddy and Octavia, two British Blues aged 15 months. Rupert has always got on
very well with the two girls.

His coat is not in its usual beautiful condition. He is not ill but our vets think he is suffering from type of allergy and he has lost a lot of fur under his chin and on his shoulders. He was in the vets for tests on the day before he disappeared. As a result of the vets taking a biopsy,
he has a wound with three stitches on his right  shoulder, for which he should have been taking antiobiotics when he went missing.

We have searched the village and the surrounding area extensively and leafleted most of the houses in the village. He is well-known in the village and a lot of people have been keeping an eye open for him. We
have also sent letters and leaflets to vets in Skipton, Barnoldswick, Colne, Burnley, Settle, Ilkley, Burley in Wharfedale, Keighley and Bingley, and animal protection organisations in Keighley and Haworth.

The weather over the past three weeks has been variable with sunny periods and some heavy rain.

"Rupert is a much-loved cat and we are heartbroken that he has disappeared. We would be very grateful if you  could help to re-unite him with both us and his two friends."

Rupert is probably still in the area - if he has wandered out into the fields, he will at some point return to civilization - but could well make his way back at a different angle.

We need everyone in the vicinity and surrounding areas of Thornton in Craven to look out for Rupert. Please Search and keep a close eye on Sheds, Garages & Outbuildings, he could be sheltering in Yours. If you think he may be closeby, please leave a little food out and try to entice him in - contact his humans with any information however vague.

We have a POSTER for reference or display - please send for Yours.
