Burtonwood WA5
'Torti' Nov.2008 - Dec.2008
c2735

Hi Sue,
I have found a stray, in Burtonwood, Warrington

She is very thin and old, and was due to be pts before I offered to care for her until her owners were found.

The cat is a tri coloured tabby, with a silver flea collar on. She is about 12 years old.

Hi Sue
She is indeed an old cat, but very charming with it. We did actually grow quite fond of her and would have been quite happy to let her see out her days here. Luckily for her owners, they found one of the notices we have been putting up (having been though the heartache of losing a cat, and thankfully finding her - i felt I had to try my best to find her rightful owners).

Well, we got a call on friday, just after we had stocked up on supplies and cat food tins (something my cat won't touch) - the owners said she had been mising for just over a week, and they assumed she had wandered off to die! oh dear! If only they knew she was curled up next to my radiator the whole time purring away.

Anyway, along they came - told us all about her, her name is "tash" they thought our version of "lion head" was quite suitable though!! She is 20 years old, and they have had her since she was 8 months old, so as you can imagine, they were pleased to find her happy and well.

It was sad to see her go, but im sure my cat sox was not too sorry to see her go, although i thought she quite liked her in secret. Well they say if new cats ignore each other that counts as a good friendship!

Anyway, i'd better go - thanks for your help

Sue

Co Co an 18mth old Spayed female with Amber eyes
All Black

Dear Sue
There is a tragic end to Coco's story.  On Christmas morning my husband found her body in our garden

I don't know what happened or why we hadn't been able to find her earlier if she was still so close, but one theory is that she had been dead some time and her body dragged there, but we'll never know.

Needless to say we're utterly heartbroken.
Thank you for being there when I needed advice and sympathy.

Hope you and yours keep well.
Sophie

'Nelson' 14th Apr.2006 - 23rd Dec.2008
c0828

Nelson aged 6yrs male chipped & neutered DSH. He is Tabby/white with a cloudy right eye
Dear Sue,
My daughter and family have just received a Christmas miracle – They had a knock on the door this evening, asking if theyhad lost a cat – called Nelson  - well Nelson has been missing since Good Friday – April,  2006 – They said yes and looked down to see a cat carrier and you’ve guessed it – Nelson was in it..

Apparently he had been living in a shed – no more than 5 or 6 minutes away from my daughter’s house.  The owner of the shed was about to dismantle it, when a kind neighbour said – what about that poor cat – you can’t leave it homeless.  She took the cat to the nearest vet to see if he was chipped – which of course he was and –  so he’s home safe – reunited with his brother Harry and apparently acting as if he had never been away.

This is the best Christmas present that any of us could have wished for – you always say never give up hope – well, now we have the living proof!  You will need to remove him from Missing Cats on your website of course.

Merry Christmas – Happy New Year and thanks for all you do for our missing furry friends.

God Bless.
Pat Gwyther - Kerry & Andrew.

RIP 'Chum' found November 2007 - Dec.2008
c2150

A  DSH entire male with Green eyes
Lovely tabby, beautiful Marbled markings. Playful with a lovely
temperament. Short hair.
For the past few weeks he has been sneaking into our house via the cat flap, seeking food and shelter. Now he thinks he lives here! Obviously well looked after until he strayed or became lost. He is an un-neutered tom and may have wandered off in search of queen cats.
Dear Sue
So sorry we never came back to you with an update........possibly because we were so upset with the outcome at the time.

We cared for him for a long time while trying to trace his owners. In the end we realised it just wasn't meant to be and we decided to adopt him ourselves. We took him to the vet for innoculations and neutering.........and were devastated to find out that he had AIDS.
We spoke to local centres about the possibility of re-homing him, but his chances were very slim. We couldn't keep him ourselves, because we had another cat. (who, of course, had to be tested for AIDS also).
He was fairly wild; not atall an indoor cat. He was, therefore, a threat to all cats in the neighbourhood. After much discussion and soul searching (and input from the vet about his care) he was eventually put to sleep.

We were heartbroken. We had come to love him so much in the short time that we knew him, and for his final months of life he was loved to bits by people who cared for him.

We tried EVERYTHING to trace his owners, so I hope there is no one out there still missing him.

Kind Regards  Dee Cooling

One shade of Darkish Grey with Yellow eyes.

Been visiting for weeks but now stays permanently.
Dear Sue,
Many thanks for your email. The good news is we found the owners via posters we put up locally. They live not very far away and came to collect him after we verified that they were his legitimate owners by calling the vet. He now seems to be living with both families! His real name is Henry.
Kind regards, Karen Golanski.

'Dawkins' 11th Dec.2008 - 16th Dec.2008
c2771

Dawkins a 1yr old neutered and chipped DSH male with Yellow eyes
Black and White
Sue,
Thank you very much for this and your subsequent email.
I’m very pleased to say that after 5 days, Dawkins just returned of his own accord early yesterday morning. We had put flyers round, and were subsequently telephoned by someone who lives a couple of streets away. A cat like Dawkins had been chased by their dogs up a tree in their garden – it would seem he may have stayed up there for the whole 5 days!
I’m sorry I didn’t advise you of this sooner, and presume you can now just remove Dawkins from your list. I hope the other registrants are as lucky as we were.
Best Regards,

Martin Smith

Her long coat is Creamy White with Pale Ginger flush to face ears back tail and across legs
Missing from the area of The Glenn, New Road..

Dear Sue,

Good news!
Angel was found on Sunday evening, just as we were starting for home her eyes were caught in my headlights as I switched them on, we legged it after her and with the help of local residents managed to catch her. Seven days out in dreadful weather and not too worse for wear apart from sore paws and rather thin and hungry, great survival for a house cat!!
Needless to say she is now chipped and secure at home with lots and lots of tlc. I would like to thank everyone in the Parkstone area who were so kind and supportive and of course my moggy!!

Thanks to all
A very happy owner.

'Bailey' 18th Sept.2008 - Dec.2008
c2603

Bailey a 4½yr old neutered and chipped DLH male with Pale Green eyes
Pure White Angora - looks like a pedigree. Very large and handsome.
Hi Sue,
Bailey was found by Marie 3 weeks after he was taken. Marie filled the area he was sighted with posters and flyers. This was the Chingford Mount area. After she received various information and phone calls about Baileys sightings she discovered that he had escaped the lady's house who had admitting to taking him, and was very slowly trying to make his way home. Marie found him one saturday afternoon after a phone from one of her posters. He had no collar and had been living rough. But amazing she was reunited with him.
I'm sure if you were to call Marie again she will fill you in fully.
Hope this helps as it can be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack!!!!  It was amazing result, thank god Marie got her boy back.
Hope this helps Sue,
Many Thanks
Sam Green
Thanks goes to you Sam for all the help you gave during the search and on Marie's behalf, to all those who helped keep a lookout for Bailey everyone's help was truly appreciated.

Again, many thanks for your time. The days and nights she was missing were just the worst and I am so glad to have her home. I am happy to say that you can remove her from the missing cat website!!!!

'Charlie' 15th Nov.2008 -
c2723

Charlie a 3½ yr old neutered and chipped Chinchilla Persian male with Green / Blue eyes
Pure White with distinctive dark hairs running from top
of behind to tip of tail.
Hi Sue, Just to let you know that Charlie was found 2 days ago about 100m in rear of my house in a backgarden of someone's house. We believe he had been there for sometime probably the day after his disappearance.
The problem was coaxing him out from under the small wet space under the shed he was hiding under. Due to the owner having a dog, they tried to coax him with food, but being as crafty as they are, he resisted until night time. I had been working a night shift and got to bed about 8am when my neighbor knocked on the door about an hour later and said someone had reported finding a white persian.
She works for a cat sanctuary and they had got in touch with her after a friend of a friend of a neighbor was told about Charlie under the shed. they managed to get him out only after he came out for food in the early hours of the morning and they let their dog out in the garden which then went for Charlie. the owner immediately managed to separate them but Charlie ran back under the shed. Deciding Charlie was in a worst state than he imagined he cleared the shed to get the flooring up to get to him. the noise of doing this disturbed him and he just walked out as if nothing was wrong!
Anyway after a visit to the vets and today to the groomers I can report he is back to his normal self eating and being use to his home comforts.
He suffered only dehydration and minor weight loss. I know that I am extremely lucky to have got him back so soon. This all happened on the day I got the flyers and posters from the printers to put in the local area.
Thank you for the invaluable advice and support you really are worth your weight in gold with the service you provide.

'Marshall' 16th Nov.2008 - 24th Nov.2008
c2732

Marshall an entire but chipped DSH male with Green eyes
Black and white: White lower half of face from under the tip of his nose to his bib, belly, front paw socks and continuing on inside back legs all the way to his paws, with grey interspersed in with black, especially on his sides, long black tail, unevenly distributed whiskers
Dear Sue,
My cat has been found
A couple saw my add in the local newsagent and called me. Apparently he had been hanging round their street and I think they had taken him in and got rather fond of him.

He was looking very thin and lacking in energy and definately not his usual cheeky self. He's a lot better today though, having had plenty of sleep and finally decided to eat a decent amount of food, he's started to be more his old self now, jumping around like a crazy thing!

I'm going to keep him in for a bit longer though as I don't want him going out and getting lost all over again!

Good luck with your website and I shan't hesitate to contact you should he go missing again,
Many Thanks,
Anna Slater

Found in the area of Meadowside Avenue..
'Matti' a young Long haired male with Yellow Eyes
Ginger and White: Mainly ginger body with mainly white chest & ginger and white striped tail.

Hi Sue I went to see Matti today.  He has  a really lovely home.  He's in the country with lots of fields at the back of his house.  He has his own really posh beanbag in the living room as well.   There is a road at the front of his house but it is a relatively quiet road (30 mile limit).  I was concerned about this at first but after weighing up the Pros & Cons he's a very fortunate pussy cat. Julie is going to take him out at the rear of her house in the fields with a harness when she eventually takes him out.  Then she will let him out while she's with him and able to monitor him.
She really is a lovely girl and has a beautiful home. She absolutely adores him.  She's bought him all sorts of toys and a scratch post.  She told me that her relatives have been visiting her just to see him..I believe it too!

Hi Sue,
Amazingly we received a phonecall last night to say that he had turned up!!! He had managed to travel 3 miles across London and doesn't seem any the worse for wear. A lovely lady found him in her house after he came in through her cat flap and because she didn't recognise him, called the number on his collar, which is a miracle he still had on as he is notorious for losing them.

Thanks so much for your advice and it is great work that you do.

Willow an 8yr old neutered and chipped DSH male with Greenish eyes
Large DSH White and Tortoiseshell White right ear, Coloured left ear, long tail

~ He turned up at 5am and has been sleeping on me all day - couldn't even get dressed! He is still sleeping on me now - can't sleep so excited - emailing u from my phone yippeeeee

... Thank you so much for your email.  i cant believe i have sat up all night (in bed) just stroking Willow - i always talk to him and he meows back - i just wish i could understand!! lol he is very very thin and has 2 bleeding sores on his back legs on his kind of "elbow" (at the back of the flat bit of his hind leg) i am going to take him to the vets just to get him checked out - he is eating little and often, he has been out several times and he is cleaning himself - so i think he is in good shape.  i think he has been shut in somewhere as his pads are fine, he is dirty but not as bad as i would have expected, he is very thin but he is a good hunter - i checked and re checked everyone (that would let me) outbuildings etc walked the streets day and night calling him - i feel terrible as i think he must have been close by - still he is home and i am extatic!! i cant tell you how good it was last night to nearly trip over willow as he weaved in and out of my legs as i walked to the loo and then sat on my feet once again!!
i am so very thankful he is home

i will keep checking mymoggy as it is such a good site and have recommended it to a couple of other people i have met in recent weeks who have also lost their pussycats

thank you for all your hard work

take care and have a great weekend (and get some sleep!!!lol)

'Flossie' found 22 Oct.2008
c2699

Flossie a young Persian female
Predominantly White
Found in the area of Crookes, Sheffield...
Dear Sue,

A happy ending concerning Flossie. I found the owners! Some relatives of the owners (who live on a housing estate near to where I live here in Sheffield) were looking after the cat while the owners (from Newcastle) were on holiday in Florida. The cat sitters let her out, which was a bit silly as she had no collar on and I had her checked out at the local vets but she was not chipped either.

Flossie was missing for 12 days from the cat sitters house and I looked after her for 7 days. Apparantly she was a rare breed brought from America.

I had put a 'missing cat' notice in our local post office/vets/pet shop and a friend of the cat sitters had seen one of them.

Plans were in place between myself and the RSPCA regarding Flossie. Their concern was twofold, this was obviously an expensive cat which needed daily grooming so they would have had to make sure she went to the right person. They asked if I could keep her until the right person was found and I said I would.

I made sure the cat sitters were genuine by asking them what sex the cat was, what colour eyes, description of etc. They brought photo's of Flossie and it was obvious the cat new them when they were reunited. They were over the moon to have found her and so was I! They left their address and phone number. The owners were due back two days after she had been found, lucky for the cat sitters! The owners have not contacted me, my guess is that the cat sitters have kept quiet about it all.

Thank you for your support, concern and all the good work you do.

Regards,

Pauline

White with large Orange and Black patches, light Greenish eyes.
In very good condition...

Sue
Update on 'Nancy'. In spite of extensive enquiries and advertising her previous owners never came forward. She had many untreated conditions, but was rehomed by my friend who has spent a fortune at the vets and, Poppy, as she is now called, is looking beautiful and living the life of a very spoilt pussy cat. So happy ending all round.

Entirely Black with a small White bib and small tear in right ear.

I am delighted to report that our cat Louis has returned safely on 3 Nov after 24 weeks. Just appeared in the garden at Chertsey. Very thin and sorry for himself, but very affectionate. Sincerely, Stuart Vittles

Update: Sue, a quick update on Louis's progress. 10 weeks since he re-appeared. He is fine now, eating sensibly, confident outside and healthy weight. He is much more affectionate since his ordeal. Now chipped and all injections up to date. Best wishes to you, and thanks for all your support. Louis and Stuart. x

He is in a bad way (lost half his body weight and very dehydrated) but he is at the vets today on a drip and doing well - will let you all know how he gets on but he should be home in about 4 days (fingers and paws crossed). I need to thank the three builders responsible (i did thank two of them this morning but the one who rang me yesterday wasn't there so need to speak with all). They have made me the happiest I have been in a long time and Piper owes them his life.

Still in shock and very emotional but fantastic news!!!

Update Nov.08

'Ronnie' 28th Oct.2008 - 1st Nov.2008
c2700

Ronnie a 4yr old neutered and chipped British Blue male with Amber eyes
Grey: A solid grey colour all over

Great news!  Ronnie came home at about 6:30 on Saturday morning looking very sheepish and hungry. This is his normal breakfast time so he was obviously guided by his stomach and the need to eat something after being missing for four days.
Words cannot describe how I felt when I saw him and it has amazed me how he managed to find his way home since he was sighted about half a mile from our house on Thursday.
Many thanks for all your help and my message to everybody else who is missing a pet is don't give up hope.

He has a very pink nose and ears!
He's back!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still shaking - can't believe it!!! wow.
Just walked through the door as if he'd been on a holiday!

Thanks for your help,
Emma

Please tell your other advertisers not to give up... I had over 10 prank calls from kids, 6 "definite" sightings which turned out to be other cats - so disheartening, then unhelpful people taking my posters down/refusing to let me put one up (even the doctors wouldn't let me put one on their empty noticeboard!) the process is not easy - I wish them all lots and lots of luck.

Holly a 4yr old spayed and chipped female with Green eyes
Black shiny coat, with slight bald patches around her
collar.
Hi Sue,
I am just emailing you to let you know that 'Holly' is home safe. We cant believe it!! its been five and a half weeks and we had followed your advice and my husband and I have searched day and night to find her, we have both been unwell with worry and on Friday 24th of October the phone call came that we had been waiting for.
It had been a very stressful day with one thing an another, we had just nipped home for something, anyway i had 2 missed calls on my mobile phone, i was just about to ring the numbers back when my phone rang. It was Milne and shine Vets in Poulton, a very nice lady came on the phone and told me they had found Holly and she was with them, my heart sank and i couldn't speak, my husband had to take the phone off me. We went straight there and they were there to greet me, i was shaking so much and when we finally got to see her i couldn't control the tears,. Its all thanks to a very special lady called Beryl Brown from Poulton. I spoke to Beryl that evening and she had told me that for the last week she had heard Holly outside with her cat crying, at first she thought Holly was new to the area but then she started to feed her as Holly was crying, then on friday she had a feeling something was wrong and took her to the vets to be scanned. Holly was micro chipped!! So they were able to find us, what a relief!! . These last 5 weeks have been the worst 5 weeks of my life!!we are so glad and feel very lucky to have her back.
Holly is very thin, looks absolutely traumatised and is even more nervous all she has done is sleep and eat!! we are going to the vets this week for a check up!!.

I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Milne and Shine vets in poulton who were absolutely fantastic with us and took good care of Holly, and also a big thank you to Beryl Brown we hope you read this!! you have given us the best present ever thank you for taking care of Holly for us we are so glad you took her to the vets, we cant thank you enough Beryl!!

Also a great big thank you to you Sue, you have been so good, you have been a very good counselor when i needed someone to talk to!! My Moggy is a fantastic site, we wish you all the best with everything you deserve it!!!

with Love and best wishes from Dawn and Simon Geraghty X (By the way we cant stop smiling!! thank you)

Dear Sue,
Thank you for your response. The search for Marmaduke can be halted. Unfortunately, one of my neighbours found his body under his garden shed at the weekend. It's most likely that he took refuge there after being in an RTA.

Thanks again for your response.

Black : Billy has Black fur but in certain lights his fur

Hi Sue, good news!  got a phone call from the vets yesterday, an old couple have been feeding billy and they took him in to be scanned!  he's now at home with us where he belongs.  cant believe it, its four months since he disappeared.

He was about a mile and a half away from where we lived!  I am gobsmacked to have him home!  Hes settling back in really well, he was really timid anyway as we had only had him for three weeks but he seems to me more relaxed in the new house.  hes been rolling around on his back to have his tummy tickled.  the couple who were feeding him told the vets that he was sneaking into their garden and eating the birdseed that they were leaving out, and that he was looking really skinny so they started to feed him.  they tried to catch him but every time he had eaten he ran away.  they eventually managed to catch him as they wanted to keep him but were going away on holiday and were worried that he wouldnt be fed whilst they were away.  they took him into the vets to ask their advice and they scanned him and it was him!  were so so pleased.  hes beautiful!  thanks for posting the ad on your website, as soon as we take a new picture of him I will email one over to you so you can see how well he looks.
Anna x
A big Thankyou to the couple who'd been feeding Billy

Update Nov.08

Hi Sue sorry its taken me so long to send you a picture, its taken Billy a while to settle back in and be confident enough to sit still to have his photo taken!  Hes doing really well he's such a big softy, so thrilled to have him home! Anna and Joe x

15th Nov.2008. Such sad news to report - Billy's companion Valentino passed on as a result of RTA yesterday. He will join Moggy's Gang at the bridge, they will look after him and like those who have gone before - he will be remembered for as long as Moggy is around.

RIP Valentino

Silver c2491 a Silver / Grey Tabby cat lost in Hainault IG6

Silver a 4yr old entire DSH male with Green eyes
A Grey Tabby with Dark markings.

Hi Sue,
Just to let you know our cat that has been missing since Dec 07 has returned home safe and well. Thank you very much for your help, I think what you do is great and there is always hope that a beloved pet can still be found even after 10 months.
Warm Regards
Melissa

Hi Sue,

We are over the moon to have Silver back.. he went missing 2 days before Christmas 2007 and we were understandably devastated! We put missing posters up around the local areas but no luck.. 7 months went by and he still had not been found. We thought it was highly unlikely that he would return home but thought we'd give it an extra shot by posting Silver as missing on MyMoggy and National Missing Pets Register.

A few more months went by and still no sign of Silver returning. In the mean time we had gotten two beautiful white siamese kittens.. then yesterday I get a message via Silver's profile on NMPR from a lady saying that a cat she believed to be stray had been coming into her home and eating her other cat's food and she had even found him asleep behind the sofa a few times and that from the photo I had put up that she was certain it was my Silver. She only lived about 5 mins away so today I took a trip over to her on the off chance the stray she was talking about might show up while I was there.. we searched a path that backed onto her garden for about 15 mins and then suddenly saw a rather dusty looking cat come out from the bushes and straight over to us.. and yes, it was my Silver! He looked a little different, alot bigger actually.. but I knew it was definately him from his distinct markings.

I just couldn't believe it!! After 10 whole months, and all the while being so close by.. I'm guessing he just lost his way back to us as there is a rail track in between mine and the lady's homes.

Just goes to show it is possible to find your cat even if they have been gone for that long. Thanks so much for your help

Warm Regards
Melissa & Silver

p.s. We have booked him in to get him chipped this week

A Classic Silver Tabby.
Sue
just to let you know after a lot of leg work searching the area every night going further away each night Topsy has now turned up starving but healthy.

We kept the window open every night and eventually she just came in meowwing like mad and waking the whole house up at 10 to 3 in the morning.
We have fed her little bits at regular intervals and she is now well on the way to putting all her weight back on, although she is more timid than ever and wont now leave the house unless one of us stands outside with her, and she now seems to want to growl at anyone who walks past the house.
