RIP 'Joey' missing since 8th June.2008
Such a special ittle cat.
Joey a 1yr old entire DSH male with Light Green eyes
Light Grey with White chin and chest and White feet. Hi Sue I noticed that some of your website users have announced the result of their search. I too got a result on Saturday morning - unfortunately not the one I had been hoping and praying for. We got a phonecall to say that someone who had seen one of my missing posters had noticed that morning there was a cat lying dead at the side of the road about 1.5 miles from where we live. I had a bad feeling, and it was sadly him. Despite having been missing for one day short of a month, he had only obviously been killed that morning. He looked well fed (so presumably someone must have been feeding him) and he was perfect apart from a little blood in his ears and nose. We are absolutely devastated! Our cat Sona had Joey and two girl kittens on the 16th May 2007 and we kept Joey because he was the "runt" of the litter. He was always a bit slower, smaller than his two sisters but he was so friendly, soft and gentle - he was the most loving cat you could ever want and he was always still a "mummys boy" to Sona who still mothered him a bit even a year on.
We are so upset and I just hope time will heal our pain a bit. He was more than "just a cat" to us and always will be. We buried him in his favourite bit in the garden and have planted a yellow miniature rose plant above him.
Thanks for the help provided by your website - we tried everything and more but it sadly wasn't to be for him and us.
'Mia' 28th Jun.2008 - 8th July. 2008
Mia a 7yr old spayed Chocolate point Siamese female with Electric Blue eyes. Cream body, Brown ears face tail etc.. Dark 'spay' patch on one side.
" My name is Mia I am a chocolate point Siamese Pussycat.
My story begins on Sat. 28/6.08 at approx. 10.30pm. I took it into my head to go on an adventure out through the side gate, I was up the street (totally alien to me as I only ever stayed in my back garden ) So I had a wander but I wandered too far and ended up in a street I did not recognise even though it was only 1 street away, it could have been a thousand miles away.. I was lost !
I was spotted on a few occasions but when my humans came, I'd disappeared..
On the Thursday night the 3rd Jul. my human had a phone call saying I'd been seen sitting on a garden wall. They saw me but because I was not in familiar surroundings I did not recognise them and I ran off.
Sunday 6th Jul. I had made it back to my street again, completely disorientated, just could not find my way home, tried again Monday night with no luck ! But, then I found myself in the back gardens of which I had some idea.
Tuesday the 8th at approx 10.30pm I heard my human calling my name and rattling my box of biscuits . That was it, I knew I was home. It took 9 nights and 8 days but I made it.."
Mia has been back & forth to the vet (she has a really bad cold) but with plenty of tlc she is slowly improving day by day.
We wish all your stories could have a happy ending.
Our love and prayers go out to all owners who have lost their beloved pet just like us.
With love and gratitude
Wendy, Dave, Mia & Kiki xx
Thankyou for being there when I was despairing - which was most of the time.

Black/Grey striped : Typical Tabby. Dark Black markings. Handsome looking with slight brown colouring on nose & cheeks.
Sorry haven't responded sooner but fortunately I found Bradley on Saturday evening, 10 days after missing. He's a little thinner & under the weather but other than that safe & well. He was found between my village & the next in an apple orchard, under a hedge. I'm totally relieved & thankful for your help. I found it very reassuring to read some of the stories by your other cat owners & it certainly gave me hope. I wish everyone else a safe & happy ending to their situation & that they never give up hope. I'm a lucky lass!

C'fur a 14yr old DSH male with Green/Brown eyes
Ginger / Marmalade : freckled nose and lips. bikini line white fur. Saggy tummy. like to eat so probably now saggyer Hi
I am writing to advise you that I have now found c'fer although he is in a bad way. He is currently with the vet as he is dehydrated and has an injury from what appears to be his collar which trapped his leg. Poor little thing right now - hoping he pulls through. He's really dirty from living rough and it appears his collar may have been wrapped around his head and leg for the whole of the time. he was found in the garden of a family just down the road from where he went missing at Meadowbank. Many thanks for your help.
'Purdey' 24th Jul.2008 - 28th Jul.2008
Purdey a 2yr old Neutered and chipped SLH male with Green eyes.
All black apart from 2 small white patches on his bottom. They are only visable when he puts his tail up. His tail is very bushy. Hi Sue
I'm sorry I haven't been in touch to update you sooner.
Good news, Purdey came home at 2.30 am on Monday morning after driving us frantic for the weekend.
He was hungry but unharmed, thank God. His is now reunited with a very happy brother.
We have taken all the posters down and removed him from all the missing pet websites.
I have sent you a cheque, please cash it and put it towards your scanner appeal as I think the work and service you and your website provide is invaluble. It was a great comfort to me just reading about all the cats that returned home on your site, it gave me great hope in our 'darkest hours'.
We were very lucky as Purdey found his own way home, but while he was off having his big adventure we were out of our minds with worry, just knowing that there were people like yourselves who would help us find him was a great support.
Keep up the good work - and thank you and all the other cat lovers for all your kind words and advice.

'Pat' 17th Feb.2008
Pat a 6mth old entire DSH male with Green eyes
All Black, not full grown so quite long legs
Pat is now homesafe - albeit with the wrong family.
"hi sue, there's no point in continuing the search. my cat was found and handed in to a local Vetenery centre in cheshire and was re-homed 10 days later.
"i would hate this to happen to somebody else, and if it helps to prevent it then thats great. and yes it is some consolation that pat has a good home with a family. i did try and try to get in touch with the new owners (especially as they had only had him for a weekend before i was able to get the vet to call them and say that he has an owner), but as they have kids they weren't prepared to give him back to us. but i have no legal rights at all, as he wasn't micro chipped, and they waited 7 days before re-homing him"
Pat's human gave me permission to put this message online - in order to get across the importance of registering a lost or found cat with 'All' local vets and rescues straight away - also the fact that one should follow up with phone calls regularly until their cat is found.
Please act now before you lose a cat - collar , microchip (updated) and photos - are all so important in ensuring that your cat is found quickly.

He was found on 13/08/08 about a 5 minute walk away from my mother in laws.

I'm very lucky I thought I had lost him for good, because he was so far from home!!!
( Truffle's home is in Leighton Buzzard)
Good luck to all those who are still looking!

Sooty a 7yr old DSH male with Green eyes.
Black with a White patch on his chest
we had some good news yesterday as sooty returned
home after being missing for a week
I think he must have been shut in somewhere as when
he came in he was very hungry and thirsty but appeared
to be fine otherwise.
I think my posting of leafets around the streets in the
area must have worked.
Your website gives out good advise to cat owners so
keep up the good work.

His owner had helped a number of strays on the way to finding him.
'Kitty' c.May.2008 - Aug.2008
'Kitty' found in the area of the Bourne Poacher Pub..
Completely Black and quite small
This cat has been hanging around since the beginning of May at least. Shy at first but getting friendly. Its been sleeping in our front porch. Was looking a bit scruffy and had a dull coat but looking healthier since we've been feeding it. Hello Sue,
Just to update you . Looks like the cheeky monster has moved in with us! She has now been renamed Harley. For some reason she took a fancy to our home even though we have 2 Westies who like to chase cats. Slowly but surely she started coming in, using the cat flap, bold as brass started coming in the living rooms and even the dogs don’t bother her now! Still no idea where she came from but I think she is more than happy with her new home!
We lost our old cat (who was 18 ½) just before last Christmas. I said to my husband we weren’t having another cat unless one turns up on the doorstep. Many a true word said in jest – Harley must have heard on the grapevine about a vacancy here!
Found - an entire Ginger tom cat
Some white 'Ginger' has now been neutered and rehomed
'Lucy Lost' 13th Aug.2008 - 17th Aug.2008
'Lucy Lost' a DSH Black and White cat found in the area of Giggetty Lane.. Hi thanks for your email
owners found on sunday afternoon via posters on lamposts!
'Ellie' missing since 26th Jun.2008
Ellie an 11yr old spayed Siamese female with Green eyes
Lilac (medium grey) Lilac all over with some darker bands on tail which show in good light.
Great news!!! After several weeks we have Ellie back safe and well.
We had a phone call in response to our posters and flyers from a gentleman whose daughter said she had seen a cat that looked like Ellie in the garden across the road from their house. She had called to the cat who had stopped and looked before running and hiding. This was about 500 yards down the road from us at a house we had passed many times in our daily searches but we rushed down there straight away.
The owner of the house was out but the man who'd called us and his daughter came to show us whereabouts they had seen the cat. The cat heard us and shot for cover but I caught a glimpse of her and recognised her instantly. She hid in amongst some trees and rocks but I managed to grab hold of her and pull her out. After a quick cuddle and check over we put her in a pillowcase to take her home after profusely thanking the people who had phoned us.
She has been checked over by a vet and apart from having lost some weight and being very tired and a bit clingy is fine.
Thank you for your site and I hope our story will help others through the terrible time whilst their cats are missing.

'Sven' aka KitKat Aug.2008 - 26th Aug.2008
Found in Red Bank Road,
Sven a small DSH cat with Green eyes
Black all over.... Re,found cat `sven` Bispham, Blackpool
I am delighted that after spotting this little cat and feeding him (actually a her!) that after Sue picked her up as what we thought was a stray cat,the owner (who was looking for her) has come forward and she is now happily restored a few doors down.Funnily enough my own cat , Loki, is jet black and I am told that kit kat (real name)lost her black cat brother a while ago, maybe her closeness to my cat and the reason she was drawn to our house was him.
The cat is Kit Kat and it seems the reason she appeared underweight and rather poorly is that she is 14 years old and has a health condition with her thyroid gland. She is also profoundly deaf
So, many thanks to sue in helping restore the cat to her home.
I met her lovely owner today and was very happy to see the cat in her home, purring away. She did recognise myself and 2 children though and accepted a friendly pat and stroke! We shall be keeping in contact now
What a wonderful , happy ending

'Scampi' 20th Aug 08 - 28th Aug.2008
Scampi a neutered DSH male with Green eyes
Silver Tabby - Silver and Black, small Looks like the one
in the Whiskas adverts.
Missing from the area of the Oakfield Vetinary Practice, Margaret Road. Hi there, just to let you know that we have now found scampi. It was really lucky but we kept going back to the place he was last seen and eventually he turned up and we managed to catch him so he is back home safe and well.
It was a really terrible time when we lost him as he was so far from home at the vets about 10 miles away. We just kept going out every day, put up posters everywhere, went out every night calling him. It was a desperate time because he could have been just about anywhere, he ran out of his cat carrier at such speed we thought we would have no chance of finding him. No one saw him for three days then on the third night we went back after dark calling all around the area nearest to the vets-it was a long shot at this point but then we spotted him on a playing field and after an hour of patience, sitting around waiting for him to come to us, he eventually came close enough for me to grab. Now he his home safe and well like nothing happened! He was very thin and weak when we found him but is completely back to normal again now. I just hope this story helps people not to give up hope for their cats safe return as it is such a horrible thing to happen.
Thanks again, you really have a fab website and it was some comfort reading the home safe stories whilst Scampi was missing. Will certainly be telling my friends about the site.
Many thanks, Louise x

Fluffy coat Black with small white patch high on chest
Found in the area of Rhydowen... Hi Sue,
He was never claimed and stayed with us, was neutered and microchipped and became a much loved member of the family. Unfortunately Gilbert was hit by a car and killed last year. We miss him terribly...
Please find an attached photo of Gilbert enjoying the garden here. I'm sure he must have been someones much loved cat before he came here. He was so friendly but in such a state with cat flu and matted fur. As soon as I picked him up he started purring like an engine. I miss him so much.
Thank you again and for all your hard work reuniting lost cats.

'Bobby' 14th Aug.2008 - 3rd Sep.2008
Bobby a 3yr old neutered and chipped DSH male with Yellow eyes
Black and White: mainly Black over head, back and tail. White underneath including face and legs. Distinctive curled Black tail. Black smudge on nose and one on chin. Black splodges on legs. couple of White bits on his back. Dear Sue
I have some fantastic news for you at mymoggy.com!
I have found Bobby! This afternoon I decided whilst it was daylight to pop back round to my old house as a good neighbour had seen a black & white cat but wasn't sure if it was Bobby or not. I had a gut feeling to go and look even though I kept telling myself all the way there in the car it wasn't possible he could get back, what with all the main roads and cars etc. I parked the car and walked down my old back alley. I'd literally only been there a few minutes calling his and my other cats names when all of a sudden I heard a meow! of excitment. I looked up and there he was, jumping over a wall and running toward me. I've never felt so relieved. I scooped him up and gave him a cuddle all the time, tears streaming down my face. I'd heard stories of cats being clever and making their own way to places but I still struggle to believe my Bobby has done it. It's roughly 2 miles from Chislehurst Avenue and Ivy Avenue. He's a little thin but well. Currently snoozing after a full belly of food. He'll not be going out again for some time!
Thanks for all your help and I hope other cat owners have happy endings too.

Sally a 5yr old spayed and chipped British Short Hair with Yellow eyes
A Grey and White Tabby. Hi Sue
Good news, Sally has been found, after a whole month!! She was found in the woods a good way from our house. Someone found her, took her to the vets, who scanned her, and she's back with me now!
She's quite a bit thinner and let me pick her up for the first time ever. Her brother is not so keen though. We're off on holiday tomorrow, so its a shame I can't spend more time with her and we can't lock her in either. My parents are coming over to check on her so I'm just hoping she wont go off again!
Thanks for your help
'Sheddie' found 26th Aug.2008
'Sheddie' a 5-6wk old Fluffy female kitten with Blue eyes
Tortoiseshell with orange stripe down centre of face and nose.
Examined by vet - suffering from conjuctivitis and fleas otherwise fine.
As nobody has come forward to claim 'Sheddie' and the fact she has settled in so well with my other cats & dogs I have decided to adopt her.
I'm not sure if she is the offspring of a stray mum as she was already litter trained!! This certainly has made my life easier..
Thanks for all your help

'Yogey' found c.2003
Dear Sue, I was wondering whether you can put this advert on your website
Cat found more than 4 and a half years ago and has been living very happily with me in Mutley, Plymouth, Devon since then. As you can see from the photo, he is very adorable. At the time I put up an advert locally and kept an eye out for 'missing cats' notes through my door. I have been registering him with websites recently in case soemone is still missing him/worried about him and would like to know that he is well and happy (Although he is very happy here and very settled and I think any previous owners would agree he should stay here now). He is getting quite old now. Many thanks
'Laura' maybe 1-2yr old Fluffy female with Green eyes
White with Black head, ears and tail
Good healthy well fed condition wearing a pink sparkly collar
Pleased to say that Laura has now found her humans

RIP 'Mark' Sept.2008
Mark an elderly ? Persian Male.
Difficult colour to describe - Cream / Black fleck, hint of ginger and White around the mouth, another colourway suggested is 'golden'
Found in the Marsh Mill area of Thornton hiding in a local garage. Mark was very poorly with severe dehydration when found and was taken to the emergency vets - Greenways of Lytham where he was put on a drip, if he'd pulled through the first night, they could begin treatment - sadly it wasn't to be and 'Mark' passed peacefully during the night. RIP babe.

'Murphy' missing since 5th Sept.2008
Murphy a 1yr old neutered and chipped male with Brown eyes
His long coat is Tabby with White chin and long whiskers, he is a small cat. Hi sue
Murphy came home a couple of days ago. He was very hungry but apart from that he was well. I think your website is fab as it gave me peace of mind when reading owners reunited with their cat.
RIP 'Ozzy' 6th Sept.2008 - 15th Sept.2008
Ozzy a 4yr old DSH neutered male withLight Green eyes
Nice shiny Black coat with the odd couple of White hairs on
chest. Hello Sue, Thank you for your posters etc.
Sadly we found and buried Ozzy this morning.
It seems he had been hit by a car, just a shame the driver wasn't brave or honest enough to get in touch or report the accident.
He was a lot futher away than we thought. i had checked the area where he was
found only once, earlier in the week but didnt see him. we really concentrated on more local roads ones that surround ours and the wooded areas too as he was a real hunter.
he was found at the bottom of bittams lane. This could be likey where he was hit as its nonresidential, dark and people seem to drive a lot faster on this section of the road.
It's a good 10 - 15 min walk from home. its surprising for us how far away he was . I guess all the woodland round there was too irressitable for him.
But at least we have him home and can put him to rest.
'Dave' 28th Aug.2008 - 11th Sept.2008
Dave a 1yr old chipped and neutered DSH male with Amber eyes
Ginger and White : Ginger spot on right side of nose. Ginger "saddle" across back separated from ginger head & tail with white. Very tip of tail white & the softest fur, very smooth coated.
Dave the naughty fellow turned up yesterday morning! We're so pleased. He was a bit grubby & had a few ticks but otherwise appears to be ok. We're taking him to the vet for a quick check over just in case though.
Thank you for taking the time you can to reply to myself & others in the same situation, it all helps when our feline friends go missing & to have contact & access to sites like yours is a great help, it helped me know that I was at least doing something.
Keep up the good work & thanks from Dave
'Megan' 15th Aug.2008 - 13th Sept.2008

'Finley' 9th Aug.2008 - 18th Sept.2008
Finley a DlH neutered and chipped (not registered) male with Green eyes.
A Dark Tabby cat Found in the area of Deerswood.
Neutered male. In good condition. He is microchiped but the
original owners no longer live at the address registered with the microchip company. Good news The local paper contacted our vets who had originally been totally unhelpful and suddenly as if by magic the vets managed to trace the owner. The original owner in Falmouth was an old lady who had to move into sheltered accommodation and so her grandson in Bristol agreed to have the cat. He had been at the new house in Bristol for about 10 months before he just wandered off one day. We have contacted him and he has taken Finley home. Hopefully he will stay there this time.
Thanks for the interest you showed in this.

RIP 'Poppy' 13th Sept.2008 - 20th Sept.2008
Poppy a 4yr old chipped and spayed female with Light Green eyes
White with Black around ears, Black patches on back and Black tail - Pink nose and paw pads. Hi Sue,
Thank you for trying to help us We have now laid Poppy to rest . After putting posters up a neighbour 4 doors along told us that she had been run down last Saturday evening and laid under a tree. We guessed which tree it was and knocked on the door and they confirmed it but to me I could not accept that . Jim then saw a bag on the other side of the road and brought it home and yes it was our pops. So we put her in her bed and took her to the vets and got closure. I don’t know how we got through last week not knowing if she would walk in the door any minute and I would not like to go through that again. It has completely devastated us. It is so silly that losing an animal can make you feel like this but there you go, we are a couple of softies.
Other people don’t seem to understand.
Thanks for listening
'Tyke and Lordy' missing since 21st Sept.2008
2 little male kittens, Tyke and Lordy aged 5½ mths with Pale Brown eyes
Dark Long Haired Tabby
Thank you so much Sue - the kittens have thankfully been found! We immediately put up notices all around the village. There were travellers in a nearby site so we asked them too and went door-to door. My daughter and grand-daughter also visited the travellers to show how upset we were. Mysteriously the kittens were then found right in the road about a mile from our gate. We're sure they would not have stayed together if they had just strayed. The lady who found them in the road had a strange story - but hey - they've been found that's the main thing!
We gave this lady/girl a reward and I can't tell you how relieved we are. We've put a sign on the gate saying they are farm kittens - I don't know if that will dissuade anyone. They have access to their 'bedroom' at all times but we lock them up at night - though when they're fully grown we'll allow them to go in and out as they please. They're so lovely.
Many, many thanks. Just finding your website was a relief.

Found 25th Sept.2008 - 29th Sept.2008
Black cat found in the area of Bruntsfield Links..
Dear Sue, thanks for your email. I have now actually found the owner of this cat, so the ad can be deleted, sorry I hadn't got around to cancelling it yet. I immediately put up lots of posters in the area and through letterboxes. Then I took him to my place that night and gave him food and water (and a warm bed to sleep on!). No-one contacted me so I took him to the vet the next day to check for a chip and he had one! So owner now found. But it's a good thing I took him home with me: he had somehow got out of an enclosed garden area that is surrounded by buildings (typical in Edinburgh) and couldn't get back in, so he wandered off. He was quite a way from home.
So: happy ending. Thanks for your help!
'Angel' missing since 18th Sept.2008
Angel a 5yr old chipped and spayed DSH female
Black and White: She has white ears, black back and black tail GREAT NEWS
I have got her back tonight, safe and sound A little thin but other than that she seems to be fine, I took her to the vets yesterday for a checkup, her temp is fine but he gave her an antibiotic injection just in case.
She is eating ok, little and often and her tummy seems to be OK too.
She is sleeping a lot so I guess she is catching up.
She was only about five minutes from home in a nature strip behind some houses and I think that she had been there most of the time. She was only found because she ended up on a top of a tree stump which took her above the fence line of the back gardens.
Someone, who I knew actually but didn't know Angel, rang and said come and have a look which I did and there she was.
It was a case of rubbing my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things!!
Anyway here is her photo and thanks for your support.
