We adopted Charlie on the 4th November 2011 (though we re-christened him Charlie he was originally called Skitty), from a couple in Ipswich who were emigrating and couldn't take him with them.

We had just lost our own cat after 25 years and my son thought Charlie could replace her - which he did. My son brought him up north on the 4th November

He is a very affectionate cat and we thought he had made himself at home with us. We gave him full range of the house and he even managed to sleep at the side of us at night. The vet advised us not to let him out for a while though he had been trying very hard to get out.

He finally managed to get out when my husband was answering the front door on the most horrendous night of bad weather...
