Hi Sue
It has been almost a week since I got my Angel back and I still keep pinching myself that she is home safe and well. My heart goes out to everyone who has been through or is going through what I did – it does not bear thinking about.
I did not realise that I could (and should) contact Petlog immediately and they would flag up her microchip id and let me know if anything was reported – like most people i did not read the leaflet after I had got it and had I done I would have contacted them sooner.
Anyway the fact that she was microchipped gave me comfort as she had by this time, lost her collar.
I upgraded (£10) so that they would contact ALL the necessary organisations (even though I had done all I could think of) including ones out of area just in case she had wandered farther than I thought she could or would. I today received a pack which contained some plastic ties to go around her collar which said “I am microchipped, please take me to the vets” which I think is a good idea as there are still people out there who do not know that animals can and do carry microchips and are at a loss to know what to do when they find a cat (dog or rabbit). Any information which can be supplied to help finders which in turn reunites pets with their humans should be encouraged – keep up the good work!
To those of you are in the same position as I was last week – I know it is hard but please do not give up hope, as without hope we have nothing.
Regards
Julia
