Molly hasn't been seen since I left for work on 16th August
2007. As I do not have a cat flap, she prefers to stay out during the day (if it doesn't look like rain when she stays firmly indoors), have free access between indoors and out during the evening, but be indoors with me at night till the birds wake her up the next morning.
She is a semi-feral cat who is very shy of strangers (especially male), and does not like to be picked up by anyone other than me, but she loves to be stroked and scratched round the ears and neck once she gets to know you or you offer her her favorite treat! (She is very affectionate deep down, but has a hard time expressing herself at times!) She is very vocal and loves to have a good chat with me and the other humans she is familiar with! Until she disappeared her territory was moderately small, with the time lapse between being called and appearing at the door never being more than a minute or two. She has access to a large communual garden which surrounds the block I live in, and at the rear of the block there is a series of walled gardens she likes to explore. She does not go out into the road or towards the train station, as there are too many people around and she prefers to stay away from people and noise. She gets on with some of the local cats in her home territory, but stresses out about un-neutered toms in the area as they tend to attack her. She is neutered, but for some unknown reason can still come into season which has had to be controlled by drug therapy in January 2007. I was giving serious thought to sugerical intervention offered by my vet as a possible option the next time she came on heat, as when this happens she becomes very stressed by the attention of the local toms who invade both her patch and her person (unfortunately alot of the male cats are un-neutered in my area which is frustrating) and in addition her personality changes to the point of being down right vicious. I was hoping that this was the reason why she disappeared, but 4 weeks later with her not yet back, I am not so sure. The alternative is that the gardener who visted the property outstayed his welcome or interferred with her favorite hidey holes the the hedges surrounding the property. I hope that I have not gone on too long, but I would dearly love to have her back, or at least know what has happened to her even if it is bad news.

"She was last seen on Memorial Avenue, London, E15 on the morning of 16-08-2007 wearing a pink and blue collar with a bell and ID barrel. She is also microchipped. She is very shy of strangers, so if anyone sees her, please do not try to catch her. Instead, please contact me and I will come and get her, as I would dearly love to have her back home where she belongs. Even if you only have bad news to offer, please contact me anyway, as I find the 'not knowing' bit the worse part of her being missing." |
