Doris is a very charismatic cat - extremely vocal (like a siamese) and demands attention. She enjoys being picked up and held like a baby and is very friendly. She also has mad, unpredictable moments, when her pupils will dilate and she will suddenly run around a room for no earthly reason.

She has quite a big build but had recently become a bit leaner (in a good way) because she was doing so much exercise in the country. She loves hunting and is a great mouser.

Doris was staying with my parents in the country while we were selling our house. She normally stays with them when we go on holiday and so is very familiar with the territory - although is normally within calling distance and we have never seen her go up onto the road. She is spoiled rotten (eg fed roast chicken and sleeps in my parents' bed) there is is normally very happy and comfortable to stay there. However, she had been up there for a number of weeks and so we worry that she felt abandoned by us.

Doris was last seen at around 10am on the morning of 22 April. She would normally sleep much of the day but wasn't seen around again, even when called for her tea in the evening (like clockwork at 6pm). My Dad was about in the garden and thinks it unlikely that anyone could have stolen her without him seeing (which is a possibility given that she is a Bengal).
We have posted 100 flyers to nearby houses, and put up 50 colour posters on lamposts, in local shops and post office, school noticeboards etc, and are offering a substantial reward. There have been a few potential sightings around the area - but the only time we were called while the cat was still present it turned out to be a ginger tom, so we are not sure how much store to put by these reports. We have also advertised in the Barnsley Chronicle. However we have not yet gone beyond the Village - partly because of the sightings and partly because we don't know where to start.

The weather since Doris has been missing has been wonderful, so she is not necessarily wet and miserable.

Doris has a sister - Lily - who is back home with us now and clearly pining. She has lost a little weight, is subdued and from time to time will wander round meowing loudly as though she is calling Doris.
"We are devastated at the thought of not having Doris. The house feels empty and quiet without her, and we are worried about her little sister who has never been on her own before. Please, please help us."
