| c1027: This was a black and while cat I had found some time ago. I brought the cat to the vet and found she had a microchip and she was called Precious. The owener didn't respond to the calls and then I managed to get the address in Parsons Green and got there... the flat was occupied by others who had no clue about where the cat's owner was. I asked around the shops and restaurants...and found out that the lady who owned the cat had moved to... Australia! Then, at the same time, I had posters all around my area and finally after about 3 weeks, another Australian lady came forward saying that the old owner was the mother of one of her flatmates and left the cat to her, but she had never changed the details on the microchip. By that time...almost 3 weeks later, she had called, but because of the turmoil in my flat, as my female was not going to accept her, on that same day I had already given the cat to a vet friend of mine at Battersea Home to be rehomed... Precious is an amazing, a very expressive, lady-like and well tempered cat, very easy to re-home. But FORTUNAtely, the new owner had called me right before I was traveling and she was on time to go and pick it up again, the same day, to be brought back home. But again the story is not finihsed... the cat was back, the lady was always away travelling, she didn't have a garden and just left the a window open onto the street for the cat to go out, then leaving for weeks while her flatmate was supposed to feed her, but forgetting to do so. So Precious didn't want to go back again and she was back on the street, seeking affection and a warm place to sleep... BUT, at the same time that I had adopted Precious for the few weeks that the Australian lady was away, there also was/is a gay couple in my steet, who I already know and I discovered had begun to love her and had more time and afffection to dedicate to her, a 4 floors house with a double garden and plenty of love. There I was then, liasing with the Australian lady explaining the benefits of giving the cat to a more suitable family for Precious....and she agreed! Now it has be over 2 years and Precious is a very happy queen of the house. She has plenty of sofas, gardens, a Kings' sized bed bought only because of her presence and plenty of adoration from her new family. I see her from time to time ready to greet me...almost to say..."look where I am now, treated like a Princess, this is exactly what I deserve!". Just thought you wanted to know an happy ending story.... All best Love Candida |
