Teddy
has an overactive thyroid - without his medication he'll be very hyper/anxious and with an increased appetite, and his heart will be racing (which will ultimately damage it). Also he'll be miaowing a lot (and very loudly - partly due to hearing problems). He is very deaf, but will respond to loud hand-claps. He also has arthritis in his back end and occasionally is a bit undsteady on his back feet. He is an old cat, but doesn't look his age. He is friendly, but will bite and hiss, or scratch, if frightened. He is extremely wary of children.

He disappeard at 10.30 in the evening - we heard loud noises outside the front door: when we went out, a large, heavy plant pot had been knocked over in the porch, and gravel from the garden had been scattered on the pavement and in the road. He always sat on the front doorstep at night - we haven't seen him since. He's never wandered far, or been out overnight, before. Is it possible he's been stolen?

"Please help us find Teddy - we've spent years looking after him, and it's unbearable to think of him not being cared for properly now he's older and has health problems. So awful to think of him being neglected and frightened - also he'll be disorientated since he's more or less stone deaf, so will be very vulnerable. If anyone has taken him. Just hoping against hope he comes back to us."
Theft here seems a possibility - but there or so many 'Ifs' & 'Buts' connected to it. It seems more likely that Teddy will have got away and that the person trying to grab him , fell over the flower pot. Teddy being old and a little nowty will probably have objected to being grabbed in such an undignified way.

Therefore having more or less ruled this out - We are appealing for everyone in the vicinity of Collis Close in Allenton and the surrounding area to Please lookout for Teddy, Search your Gardens / Sheds / Garages for him and Help by sending for his POSTER to display in any prominent postition.
