"Desperately missing our wonderful cat Jim. His departure is like losing a child. Any help to find him would be greatly appreciated."

Jim (and his sister Rosie) are rescue cats who had a harsh start to life after their mother was killed on the road just a couple of weeks after the birth. They were born wild in a shed beside a hospital car park and reared for a few weeks by hospital staff. This experience seems to have made both cats stongly independent with need to be outside for much of the time.

I saw Jim on evening of Tuesday January 26th. He was extremely happy and rolling around playfully on the grass. He was spotted observing activities on Wednesday January 27th. Jim insists on being outside almost every night regardless of weather and was in the habit of returning mid-morning to sleep during the day. Often he was not bothered about food after a night hunting rabbits.

Jim is a fine cat with an adorable character. He is very affectionate, very talkative and will respond to being called. He would join me and our dog on walks for the first few hundred yards. Although an intact tomcat, Jim is exceptionally clean and has never sprayed in the house.

Groundworks including a new patio have been in progress since December and Jim did not like the disruption, keeping away during working days.

He has a habit of going walkabout for a few days, but not for this long.So initially we were not overly worried about him. I have asked our few neighbours in the lane, placed a poster in the local post office and searched the local area extensively including out buildings, fields and thicket. There is absolutely no sign of Jim.

Jim is a very healthy cat. Companion animals are his sister Rosie and a 10 year old lurcher called Dextor. Relationship with the dog is fine but Jim and Rosie have not been getting along so well recently. Jim just shrugs this off and I don't believe this has any bearing on his departure.

We are praying that he has not been killed and will return when he feels so inclined.
