"Sophie has been a part of our family for 17 years. It is diffficult to write about her without breaking into tears.

She has given us a lot of love and in return I feel as if I have let her down by going away on holiday."

Help Sophie find her way home

We moved to the Charing area from Margate in June 2009. Whilst on holiday in September we left sophie the free run of the house with access via catflap. She was being fed and checked on twice a day by someone she has always trusted.

From June to September she seemed to have got used to the surrounding terrain. She was always a territorial cat who hardly ever ventured beyond the garden boundary. We have no garden wall here, it is just open to the wooded area.

Sophie does not take to strangers easily and can be aggressive when picked up or stroked for too long, although very affectionate when settled at home. I have spent a couple of hours every single day since we got back off holiday searching the nearby & not so nearby wooded areas and houses that are isolated.

The snowy weather is now against us so I sincerely hope sophie is somewhere warm and safe.
