Zachary came to us a year ago. He turned up on our doorstep at midnight miaowing and starving. He made himself at home immediately, eating his fill and then going up to bed. He is very enthusiastically affectionate and loving. Obviously, his homing instinct is not very well developed. He is a young cat, full of confidence and curiosity and delights in exploring. He had a large territory and must have wandered off in his enthusiasm to explore.

He went missing on 4th January just as the weather changed and turned freezing. Luckily, he was quite plump at the time. We were so worried that he might freeze to death but have been told that cats are good at finding shelter in cold weather.

We have a permanent advertisement in the local paper and have contacted vets who have put up posters. We have put up many posters within about 7 miles. We are in contact with local cat shelters.

Perhaps he returned to his old home, in which case I wish that the previous owners would let us know that he is safe and well. It is quite likely that he has charmed a cat lover who is feeding him or has taken him in.

We have 6 other cats and he was very friendly with all of them, expecting them to like him even if they hissed at him.

"He is such a special cat and a survivor, clever but over-confident. He has an extroverted personality and we delighted in him and adored him. He is unforgettable and we can never give up hope that he will either turn up again one day or be found because of his microchip or our posters...
