'Suzy' found.Feb.2010 - 2.Mar.2010
c3767..
Suzy an 11yr + Persian female with Green eyes
Ginger: Long matted hair, light ginger Persian, she has had to be shaved, had a small cut and have been advised that she is also blind.
Hi Sue,
No further developments, I think you are right though nobody seems to be looking for her. She is so lovely, really quiet and gentle, very old and very blind but she’s certainly knows her way around the house now. She can quite easily find her food/drink and litter tray and with speed too…lol. If she wakes in the night, she comes upstairs to wake us up and we have to take her back down stairs again and tuck her back in and she goes off to sleep again.
She gets on fine with our other cat PussPuss (who was also a stray with 3 kittens in tow). I thought there may be issues there as she is pretty spoilt but amazingly she has accepted Suzie really well.
Suzie pinched PussPuss’s milk when she wasn’t looking this morning, but when PussPuss did realise she tucked into Suzies food which we know she doesn’t like.…
Me and my husband Mike have decided to definitely keep her, she is part of the family now, so please feel free to move her to the homesafe page.
Thank you again for you help and interest in Suzie, you can be sure she will be well looked after by us.

'Leo' missing 26.Nov.2009 - 1.Mar.2010
c3640..
Leo a 9mth old Entire Fluffy male with Amber eyes
Light and dark Ginger with White chin and very fluffy tail. His coat is very thick and about an inch long and his tail is really bushy. He is light and dark ginger tabby markings with a white chin and the underneath of his fluffy tail is very pale ginger; almost cream colour.
Hi Sue,
Just to let you know that Leo has been found and is now safe at home. He was taken into the RSPCA where they discovered he had a pellet lodged in his belly and he was also lame with an injury to his back leg. They've operated successfully and now I just have to get the stitches removed and have his leg looked at.
I found him purely by coincidence ! A friend of mine saw a poster on a lampost for a Ginger cat found in my area and handed into the RSPCA. I called them and my boss kindly let me go to have a look and the cat they'd just found wasn't Leo. As I was leaving I saw Leo asleep in one of the cubicles.........He'd been brought in about a month ago and was just recovering from his op after they'd discovered an airgun pellet in his chest/tummy. He was found as a stray in Havant in Hampshire (not too far from where I live) He wasn't neglected when he was brought in so somebody had been feeding him. He's now asleep on the back of my chair, very comfy but wary of the other cats, so I'm keeping him seperated until he recovers and gets used to being back home. Your posters have been a great help because I gave them to everyone I know and all eyes were looking out for him.
I'm so relieved to have him home after 4 months missing and I hope this message gives encouragement to anyone whose cat is still missing. Don't give up hope and keep on looking.
Thank you so much for your help
Love and best wishes

Jarvis a 6yr old neutered DSH male with Yellow / Green eyes
Black with White 'Felix cat' with chest and stomach, White nose and chin. White front paws and White back legs. He is quite a large cat with big White eye-brow whiskers. He is very friendly.
Hey Sue, again!
I sent you a previous message before realizing you had sent me one. Hope this little message will be ok! :
"Jarvis returned home on 28th February after a long 56 day absence. He turned up this morning, like it was any other morning at the back door ready for breakfast. He is a little thin and scruffy, but generally in good health and indeed very happy for a warm, safe bed!
I think we one of the lucky ones, and so very happy to have him home, he has been greatly missed and I think we were beginning to feel we would never see him again.
Just like to say a massive thanks you for your help and support, your work is fantastic and I hope you carry on helping lost cats back to their worried families!
All our love, Emily & Barbara"

Monty an 18mth old neutered and chipped Bengal male with Green eyes
Golden Brown: :"Brown-spotted". He is Dark Golden Brown with
Darker Brown / Black spots. He has a Whitish chin and a small White spot on his throat.
Good news!!
The little monster turned up at 4.22am!
I spent over 4 hours yesterday afternoon posting leaflets, posters and calling him and knocking on all the doors in immediately neighbouring streets then got up at 3am to wander the local streets calling again.
We had just dropped back to sleep when I heard him shouting on his way up the stairs and he hasn't shut up since!
He seems a little slimmer and was quite thirsty and hungry but otherwise fine, no nail scuffs or wounds. Has rubbed himself all over the house in the past 6 hours, displayed his full vocal range and had lots of cuddles to boot!
I've locked him in while I've gone to work today and am planning a tasty fish dinner.
What's your advice on letting him out again etc?
Also, am planning to put notes through immediately neighbouring streets to say he's home and thank them for their help checking sheds etc then maybe write found across some of the posters and take the rest down. Does that sound ok?
Am exhausted but so relieved.
Thanks so much for all your help and advice.
If there's anything I can do to help raise awareness among vets etc now or in the future then I'd be more than happy to help.

'Bacon' missing 3.Jan.2010 - 15.Feb.2010

Bacon an 11yr old neutered and chipped fluffy male with Yellow / Amber eyes
Black: All Black. Slighty longer coat than short haired, but couldn't be described as anything other than short haired. He is quite slim, with a long expressive tail.
Wearing his Black and Yellow collar with ID and Magnet when he went missing
Dear Sue
Bacon is back home!
I posted ads about Bacon on a load of cat web-sites and had been checking daily for a response, but I was too busy at the weekend to look. I had a check yesterday lunchtime and found an ad on AnimalSearchUk for a black cat who was in someone's garden in Chingford about 2.5 miles from us. I posted a reply, then found that they'd already been in touch with me. We exchanged a couple of posts during the day, then they called in the evening.
We went to take a look, because you have to, and really didn't believe it was going to be him. They hadn't let him into their house and I could here him miaowing outside their back door. When I went out, I knew instantly it was him and just burst out crying. Dave, my partner, took a little more persuading (so we went to check his microchip at Wanstead Vetinary Hospital to prove beyond doubt it was him).
He's quite skinny, but hasn't lost that much weight, but then he's not a cat who could really stand to lose any. The couple who had been feeding him had only been doing so for a week - thank goodness they thought to post his details somewhere! He has a big thick coat, but goodness knows how he survived all that weather! Otherwise he's fine, and, other than objecting to finding an extra cat here, has settled right back in.
So good to have him back :) Finding a black cat in a big city is like finding a needle in haystack and we're overwhelmed that we've found him and that he is fine.
I've attached another photo of him - the last one was very poor quality (I reduced the file size a little too much). It's not a new photo - there hasn't been time yet.
Kind Regards
Amanda

c3741.
'BingoCat' a DSH female ? with Green eyes
Tortie and White: Tortie / Calico Cat - Black Ginger and White
Tortie Back and head, rest of body and legs white
Looks well fed, smooth and clean coat, very friendly. Has been at Mecca Bingo for most of the last week and they have been freeding her.
Ref...c3741
I would like to take this opportunity to say "THANK YOU" to all the people who helped reunite me with my beloved "Lily" (aka Bingo cat :D) especially the kind lady and her mother for giving Lily a safe place to sleep, advertising Lily on this website and returning Lily to me.
I must admit I was shocked to find that Lily had crossed the train tracks to the Mecca bingo car park, has she never usually goes anywhere out of calling distance? She also was wearing a temporary old collar and blank tag after losing her original collar and barrel ID a couple of days previous to her disappearance, so has you can imagine, I didn't hold out much hope in her being returned to me. Even the RSPCA were a little doubtful. So I can gladly say that I no longer am a fan of collar and barrel ID's alone and she is booked in to be microchipped on friday, along with her two 10month old kittens, who have also missed her terribly too...
I can now sleep knowing she's home and that I have my little alarm clock back....! :D
Thank you all kindly x

'Malachy' missing 8.Aug.2009 - 21.Jan.2009
c3393
Malachy a 3yr old neutered DSH male
Ginger - All Ginger Tabby
Hi Sue,
Malachy turned up a couple of days ago, he had been missing for 6 months. He looks very well and has grown a very thick winter coat. He was found hanging around a nearby fish and chip shop. We don't know where he has been but he seems happy just to stay in the house at the moment, probably had enough of the outside life.
~~ Hi,
Initially we put posters up, this resulted in a reported sighting less than 1/2 mile west of us. We then posted a lot of leaflets door to door and talked to people in this area, I also asked the landlady of a nearby pub North to us to put a poster up behind the bar. We had a few more reports but nothing definite. At the beginning of December we had another report of a cat looking like Malachy hanging around some shops (fish & chips, butchers etc.) less than 1/2 mile to the north of us. We then posted in this area which resulted in a lot of phone calls reporting sightings. After more leaflets and door to door enquiries we had a phone call from a lady who had him in her house and wanted us to collect him.
Things to note;
After six months and a lot of cold weather Malachy's appearance was different. The main cause of this difference was that he had grown a very thick winter coat which changed the shape of his face. His behavior was different as well (slightly more cautious, deeper voice). These changes made him difficult to recognize at first and we nearly rejected him as our cat. So our advice would be to anyone who as found a cat after a long time would be to expect changes and look for things which are less likely to change (ideally get them chipped beforehand) in our case it was deep breathing out through the nose which we have never seen another cat do before (a bit like a bored sniff if you know what we mean).
We might of got quicker results if we had posted more posters North to us sooner. So in hindsight our advice would be to fully post the full 1/2 mile radius.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Andy and Helen Foster

Hi Sue,
Thanks for the email.
Pleased to report that Monty turned up last night after five nights away. In one piece but can’t weight bear on his right back leg. At the vets at the moment. They think he might have ruptured some knee ligaments (possibly having been hit by a car), but he should be OK. Had already done most of the things that you recommend in order to find him and, somehow, it worked! Can’t believe that he managed to get back with only three working legs, but just shows you how resilient cats are.
Thanks for your help and keep up the good work!

Keeps appearing at my back door at all hours - very early morning and late at night as well as tea time and wants to come inside, wants to be friendly but is very shy - only managed fingertip touches so far. Looks in good condition but I haven't seen him/her before
Hi Sue
It turns out that Timmy is called Will and lives at the end of my Street. He has in and out access at all times and he's been having me on that he's a stray. lol There was me worrying that he was out in all this bad weather and I was feeding him fresh salmon and fish etc. and leaving him a nice warm igloo bed outside - couldn't have him in because he hasn't been neutered. Evidently he's a greedy little so and so and never stops eating, but I'm so pleased that he has a great home and isn't a stray. All is well - until next time .............

Grey and White: Large grey cat white feet, tummy, chest and chin. He looks like he has a white moustache
Hi Sue,
Well we have terriffic news, last night Animal Search phoned on the mobile and told us Tinker had been found, and was at Coopers the vets(He is our vet coincidence) they had scanned him and got my daughters details, and tried to phone her, but got no reply, of course she is on holiday. We had taken a flier to all of the local vets so they phoned the no. on the flier, then they phoned us.He was found not too far from where he was before. Sarah found him in her utility room where she keeps her washing machine and tumble drier, she fed him and sat with him by her open fire, as he was very thin and cold. She has 4 cats and realised he must belong to someone, who would be missing him, and because of his condition, although it was snowing, took him to the vet. As she opened the door she recognised him from the flier they had displayed on the door.He was very weak and very wobbly on his legs, but they have looked him over and think he will be fine with food and lots of TLC. We would like to thank you very much for all of your help, and support. Also hope that our story will give hope to other missing cat owners.

A young male Brown tabby has been brought into our homing centre. Picked up from the Rosyth area it is possible that this wee fella could have come from anywhere in the Fife area as he was located in a removal companies site where he has been for the last 1-2 weeks.
Neutered, no collar, no chip. Very affectionate and friendly and very vocal.
We also think it is possible that he may have come from further afield due to where he was found. Those who spotted him believe that he may have come in on the back of the one of the removal lorries. Now rehomed

'Scampi' found 23.Nov.2009 - 3.Jan.2009
c3602
Scampi around 1yr old a DSH female with Orange eyes.
Black colouring with stripey patterns. Hair is Black tipped with White root making her look patchy and bald.
Hungry and skinny when found, with damage to claws suggesting possible RTA. No other injuries. Taken to vet who confirmed, also checked for ID.
We have had no enquiries about Scampi at all. She came in to season over Christmas, much to the amusement of our two male cats (and my living room rug!).
Scampi received a new collar from Santa, and last Monday she was Spayed, Vaccinated and Microchipped. She is recovering very well from her op.
She will be staying with us, I really can't see that anyone is going to start looking for her now....and she definitely thinks she is home.
Thanks for your help, you are doing a great job with your website!
Lisa (& Scampi!)
