Rosie a 6mth old entire DSH female with Green eyes

Dear Sue,
Guess what? She turned up safe and well. don't know how she did it as we'd kept her in since being a kitten with the intention of letting her out after she'd been speyed. She was a bit nervous and very hungry, but ok. We were overjoyed!

Many thanks for your help. It's reassuring to know there are websites such as yours out there to help cat owners in a crisis.

Sam a 7yr old neutered Persian male with Amber eyes
Light Ginger
Hi Sue,
Thanks for the e-mail….he’s finally turned up, apparently none the worse for wear. We did a leaflet drop around the area, I suspect somebody had taken him in and released him when they got the leaflet. He is quite a cutie (But then again aren’t all our cats)

We took him to the vets to get a sore paw sorted and his weight hadn’t altered so the “Garage/Shed” scenario was ruled out.

So we don’t know really where he’s been…just glad he’s back, and he’s milking the attention like you’d expect!

Thank You
Brian

Anyway, he's very happy to be home and hasn't left my side since! His adopted Mum Mary is over the moon too!

c2933

Found in the SN14 area
Tortie female
Chipped to an Animal Shelter in Wales - details not updated.
Need to find owners.
Now with Vet's Walter’s McFadden & Jones
Dear Sue,
I called the vet's today. They have managed to track down chip's owners, but they think they may be away on holiday as they haven't been able to get in contact with them. The vet's say that it's ok to take down the notice as they have definitely found the owners. They will look into the details regarding how/why she escaped when they get in contact with the owners.
Thank you for your help.

Bodmin a 10mth old DLH neutered and chipped male with Yellow / Green / Brown eyes
Tabby: Long(ish) haired, fluffy (part Maine Coon) Tabby
Hello Sue
Well, I have Great news, Bodmin is home! He managed to get himself into next door's house for several days.
Frightened by being in a noisy household with two you children (and loud Spanish relatives!), he hid behind their washing machine for several days.
It's so great to have him back, and his sister, Padstow just can't stop purring.
I had previously searched everywhere, by day and night. To anyone else in the awful position of not knowing where their cat has gone, don't give up hope - it can all turn out well in the end!

Thanks for your message. I'm pleased to say that he doesn't appear to have lost any weight - but I cooked a chicken so Bodmin and Padstow could celebrate being back together again!

They both had a lovely day yesterday chasing each other around and snoozing.

Thank you so much again.
Regards.
Mike.

'Ginger' July.2008 - Mar.2009
c2658

'Ginger' an adult DSH neutered male with Green eyes
Ginger with White feet and throat.
Overweight weighs 10kilos !! Not chipped. Good condition but has had treatment for throat damage courtesy of Cat Protection League.
Friendly, does not mind children, spends most of the time sleeping and snoring (quite loudly).
Has a mind of his own, has found the most comfortable places to sleep and shows his extreme displeasure when asked to move.

Hi Sue,
Hope you are keeping well. Just a line to let you know that we have not had any success in finding Gingers owners, so we do not think that he is a local cat and may be he was dumped on the A6 or his owner may have died
Any way he seems very happy here but does little more than sleep and eat. We are trying to get his weight down by rationing his food intake, but he might be better when the better weather comes and we can get him outside a bit more.
I thought the two attached pictures might amuse you. Shocked by his weight gain, Ginger decided to do exercises with his new owner!!

Kind regards   Jim Kindred

'Bennett' 3rd Dec.2008 - 6th Feb.2009
c2845

Bennett a 6yr old neutered and chipped DSH male with Green eyes
Grey Tabby: Grey Mackeral Tabby with distinctive tabby markings ("M" on forehead, long "eye liner" line extending out from both eyes) Very long and tall cat. 8.5 kg at full weight

Hi, Sue, just about exactly 3 months after he went missing, I got a call last night from a very excited couple (Sarah and John) on Shelley Close -- less than 1/4 mile from Cecil Avenue in St. George -- that they had Bennett and would I like to come get him? He had come around about five weeks previously -- thin as a rail -- and they started feeding him. There's an allotment near their house that has a lot of feral cats and they thought he was one as well, except he was much friendlier. Apparently the feral cats wouldn't accept them into their "pride" and he was a "rubbish" hunter so he was skin and bones, and right now is still extremely underweight.

Anyway, the couple finally brought him in for good about 3 weeks ago. They took him to the vet (paid for by Bristol League for Cats) a couple of days ago and the vet found his chip. Unfortunately, it said that it was a U.S. chip so there was no information. They took it upon themselves to do some searching and finally got my name and my old address (on Cecil Road). Talked to my old landlady and tracked down my phone number somehow -- I'm confused about when and where they got the information -- and called me.

Bennett is blissed out being back home. His sisters are real skittish around him, I'm not sure why. They hiss at him and he hisses back. This week I'll take him to the vet again and see what I should be doing to get his weight up. Otherwise, he's becoming more and more his old self.

I knew you'd want to know.

Here he is taking a well-deserved nap.......

If having arrived from overseas it is important that you register your pet's microchip with UK databases.

RIP 'Scamp' 2nd Dec.2008 - 21st Feb.2009
c2868

Scamp a 7yr old neutered and chipped DSH male with Green eyes
Black and White: a Tuxedo cat. White nose, chest, stomach, 4
White paws, 2 Black nostrils & White tip to tail

Just to let you know that we have found Scamp's body. I had a feeling right from week one that he was dead, but my sons were hoping for a happier outcome so as you can imagine we are all very upset. He was still quite recognisable (it has been very cold here which I suppose has preserved him) and in a corner in walking distance but out of sight at the back of a builder's yard in between 2 fences. It was a place he could have got out of himself and not particularly near any roads. He didn't seem to have any major injuries so I think he must have eaten something that poisoned him. I hope he died quickly but I suppose we will never know. Anyway it is better to know for sure than to go on endlessly hoping and looking. At least now we can bury him in his own garden.
Thanks for your help.

    Hi Sue,
I am writing re: lost cat reference c1758 – Stitch.

After being missing for nearly 2 years, Stitch has finally been found!!! We got a call on 2nd Feb from Petlog saying that he had been found living on a farm 6 miles away!

A lovely couple had taken him in about 14 months ago after he turned up at the farm cold and hungry (no idea where he was for the first 6 months or how he got so far away). The couple had just bought a new puppy last weekend and their vet came round to see him. The vet mentioned about getting the new puppy micro-chipped…so after the vet explained what micro-chipping was, the couple asked him to scan their cat as he was a stray on the off chance he was chipped – and up came our details – it was our Stitch!

We went and collected him straight away and brought him home. He doesn’t look any worse for his adventure, in fact he’s piled on a few pounds! We will be forever grateful to the lovely couple who cared for him.

Not sure after all this time whether he remembers his brother (Simba) who he grew up with (and we have since got another 2 cats) but he seems to be settling in well – with the help of some chicken!

We have never been happier and still cannot believe that we’ve got our gorgeous boy back! Miracles really do happen x

Thank You - Hayley, Paul & Stitch xx

'Tortie' found Sept.2008
c2629
She's a tortie/tabby & white, roughly 1-3years, but more likely 1 year. She had a collar imbedded in her armpit. Distinctive markings, no chip.
Found near Norwich, Norfolk, but not logged as missing anywhere near here, super friendly, so could be from anywhere,
Hi Sue,
No-one claimed her, although I must have had 30+ emails about her, from various internet sites, they were always chipped with no collar, or wearing a collar of a different colour, so when her wound was healed, we put her up for rehoming. She's now settled with a lovely family
Thanks for reminding me! Hope things are going well with mymoggy.

'Heidi' missing since 18th Jan.2009
c2850

Heidi a 6mth old Entire , chipped DSH female
Marbled Tabby / Tortie: Brown stripe pattern, with white paws and white around mouth. A couple of patches of ginger too.
Hi Sue,

I am thrilled to say Heidi is home! We had leafleted loads of houses last week, and she was located in the garage of one of them on Friday.  We finally managed to entice her out on Saturday.  She is fine - the lovely householders had put prawns down for her, so she was better fed than at home!  She is well, the only discernible difference is that she will not stop following us around and headbutting us - I think she is glad to be home!

Thank you so much for your help, and keep up the good work!

  • Mink a 7mth old DLH Burmese cross female with Green eyes
  • Black/Choclate
  • Quite small for her age. Recently nueutered and fur has not quite grown back yet. Has points as per Burmese Very lively
    Hi Sue
Just to let you know that Mink has been found safe and sound and returned to us yesterday evening.

We had mailed all the vets we could find for a 10 mile radius with her poster.  She was found by a couple about a half a mile away and taken to a vets which was displaying the poster.  They had seen her around for a couple of days and assumed she was a new cat in the neighbourhood but then realised she was lost.  We have no idea where she was for nearly a week up to that as there had been no reports of sightings of her at all.

She is very pleased to be home and settling in again nicely, although of course she was very tired and hungry.  When she is awake, she does not stop purring.  Mink has now been chipped and a check by the vet shows she does not seem any worse for wear after her big adventure.

    Regards

    Sue

  • Titus a 12yr old neutered DSH male with Green eyes
  • Blue Grey: front paws, has White toes back legs, appearance of White socks. tip of tail White. A little White on stomach area
    Dear Sue

Titus has returned.  He was at home on Christmas eve morning but was not there when I came home early evening.  I was very worried, having just moved out of my house into a rented one so that I could get some work done on my own house.  Having kept the cats in about three weeks I thought it would be safe to let them out.  The house is at the end of a cul de sac with fields at the back so very safe for cats, I thought.
Titus returned at 2.00 am on Sunday the 4th. January, very thin and hungry.  My guess is that someone went on holiday and shut him in, he is very nosey, I was also very concerned in case he could not find his way back.  I notified everyone I could and really thought he had gone for good.

Thank you for all your advice and a very happy new year to you.

    Sylvia and Titus xx

This is a very happily typed email to say that out cat Bert has been found safe and healthy, in fact it seems as though he has managed to put on some weight whilst he has been away. I do find it amazing to think that he has been surviving these below freezing nights since his disapearence on Boxing day.
He was found about 1 mile away from home and was fed by a family that took him in today after he reluctently went in their house.
My partner Kelly and I are very happy that our little family has been reunited together and we can now celebrate the new year properly.

Thank you so much for your help and wonderful posting on the website as well as the very helpful infomation you provided at the start.

We hope this year is a very successful and happy for you and that as many cats are found, return home or are as safe as can be.

    All the best
