TabbyCat found in Aberdeen

This Tabby Cat has been hanging around the Castlegate area of Aberdeen for some time now - His finder says -    Hi Sue,  I'm still around and we have kept the cat. My wife wants to take him back to Canada when I go to the Middle East around May time.    He's grown on us both so what ever happens we will be keeping him.     Mark
Named 'Sweetie' by his finders companion human of the female variety ( we have been asked to stress that fact:) )

Barney

Barney a dark 4yr old SH Tabby not wearing his collar when he went awol....
The perfect birthday present for Barney's human of the male variety when Barney strolled in this evening - a little thinner and craving for attention.
Sue
I have definitely wagged a finger at Barney, he has not stopped meowing, Poor John, its his birthday but I have sent him out for a litter tray, and all the attention is on my babe Barney,
After many days of leaflet dropping, advertising in the local gazette and many a night calling Barney and pacing in the freezing cold, he finally came back. We left food out the back near the cat flap - it wasn't touched, so the next night we left food out the front, it was eaten. We then left more food at the back and it was eaten. Barney then returned through the cat flap on his own, much to my sons shock.
He has lost a lot of weight - not a bad thing as he was a monster, but he is showing his voice off like nothing else, though he is purring and settling he is very unsettled at the moment, I have blocked the cat flap off and he will have a visit to the vets tomorrow for an MOT test. I would like to thank Sue for her enthusiasm and willingness to get the "wanderer" back and all the good work she does and to thank the neighbourhood for all their support - I didn't realise there was so many cat lovers around. I am ecstatic My baby has come home.

A final note: I personally will continue to support Sue and all the good work and if I can be of any assistance in any way please let me know-you have my details.

Misty is a long haired chipped and spayed female, her coat is a Black Smoke ie White at the roots, Black tips with tinges of Brown. Her tail looks White. We can't believe it, at 1.45 this morning, Misty came in through the cat flap, straight to the food.  She must have been trapped somewhere.  She is very thin, her coat is matted, her ears and face are scabby and she has a sore eye.  She is a small, young cat and it's amazing that she has survived for so long without food!  Can't wait for the vet to open to get her checked out.  Thanks for all your help and support.

Samantha is just under 2years old, is a chipped & neutered female with black, silky short hair. Not a large cat but small & sleek...  Hi Sue, Shes home!!!!!
I was just on my way to a hospital appointment this morning when our vets nurse rang the mobile to say a lady had just brought her in to be chipped and spayed. I think the vet nurse recognised her and suggested a scan.

Needless to say I missed my appointment. The lady has had her since the day she went missing and hadnt thought to try and find out if someone owned her!!!!!!! Shes been looked after and loved and fortunately the lady was willing to let us have her back. She was obviously quite distressed as Sam's such a loving cat. I dont think she was aware of what we have been going through. I made a right fool of myself in the vets grizzling!! Thank you for your support and reassurances. Hilary.

Samson is a is 9 ½ year old SH White cat with Tabby patches he has a nick out of the top of his right ear and his front two large top teeth removed.      Hi Sue, Just to let you know we have have found Samson today unfortunataly he is dead. A neighbour came to the door saying he had found him in the back of his garden partially covered with leaves. He looks like he collapsed there, no injuries to him.   Our only comfort at this time is that it appears that he has died of natural causes on the morning that he went out and did not suffer at all. He is sady missed and is now with his sister who unfortunatly we had to get put to sleep last year at the age of sixteen years.  We wanted to thank you for your help and advice and are grateful for all your assistance and words of comfort in the time that we spent looking for him. Brilliant news, Bacardi is home.
He was found aprox 10 - 15minutes walk away by a lady who noticed him hanging around the food she'd put out for foxes - he then began to shelter in her garage, eventually she managed to get close enough to read his ID. Prince a 5yr old Dark Brown neutered Tonkinese male with a Distinctive Hole in tip of right ear about 3mm across from having a cyst removed. He was wearing his blue colour and a red & white reflector disc when he went awol from the Fairwater Avenue area of Welling...
Hi Sue,   We both wanted to say a huge thanks for all your advice in helping to find Prince.   The posters really worked,  we'd put through nearlly 2 - 300 leaflets through doors but hadn't had a response,  it wasn't until the Monday when people started to walk to work that we started getting calls from people saying they had seen him.   It turned out we had leafleted completely the wrong area!
It wasn't until the Tuesday until that we actully managed to find him and it was the most peculiar strange of events that lead up to us catching him,  the only thing I can think of is this it was meant to be.  Prince is a little thin but other than that in good health and straight back in his normal place on the bed that very night with no idea how much trouble he had caused,  but it was all worth it in the end and we met a lot of really nice people as well.    No more late nights walking the streets looking for him which is nice...
Many, many thanks for your help.     Prince,  Silver, Clair and Marco

Thomas a long-haired, 7 year old, tabby cat with White Chest and Paws, missing from Ashton in Preston...
Sue,
Just to confirm the amazing events of yesterday, all thanks to you, we found Thomas after almost 9 months of losing him.
It wasn't until Sunday night that we eventually got round to putting up some of your posters in the Ashton area as a last attempt at finding him. By chance we put one of the posters on a road where one of the assistants from a local care home lived, who saw his picture and realised they had been feeding him since December last year. We went round last night and there he was sat in the greenhouse of the care home ! As you mentioned I don't think he recognised us to start with but when we got him home he obviously recognised familiar territory and rushed to greet our daughter Charlotte when she returned home later on.
Thankyou for all your help - after a long break the family is now complete again !      John

A word of grateful thanks to Barbara and Staff of the Care Home on Egerton Road in Ashton, Thomas had been living in bushes in the grounds and was recognised with the help of a 'Moggy' poster nearby.

Dear Sue   FREDDY HAS COME BACK!!! He was sitting on his chair this morning when I looked into his room. I couldn't believe it, but am very very pleased. He looks well for having been away for four days without food and in a completely new area. After spending a lot of time cooing over him (he seemed completely baffled by this but did enjoy the attention nevertheless), we sealed his cat flap latch so he can't open it on his own again and I am going to buy him a collar today.
Thank you very much for your help. Good luck with all of your excellent work.      With all best wishes

Penny a plump little 6yr old Full Tabby female.
Rehomed from Easterleigh in July after an 8mth stay in the Sanctuary, Penny is an extremely timid 6yr old. The search for Penny has been continuous since going missing and all credit goes to Tracy, Rosies human who, from her photo on MyMoggy recognised her as a stray that she had been to look at . Penny had crossed main roads, a railway and a brook and was about a mile away as the crow flies, from her home when found.  Congratulations all.
~ hi Sue,  had a phone call on friday at work from a lady in Lytham saying she had a stray cat that had been in her garden for a couple of weeks and she thought it might have been Rosie. Even though Lytham is about 6 Miles from my house I had to go and have a look. Drove up after work but awith disappointment it was not Rosie, the lady was worried about the cat so I told her I would look on the mymoggy web page when I got home and also told her to put an ad in her local paper the next day. Got home looked on the website and there she was, I quickly phoned the lady in Lytham back and gave her the telephone number from the ad. Only heard the good news today from amy, some good has come out of rosie going missing, hopefully Rosie will be home soon too. I have just had another 600 leaflets printed so going to have a few busy nights posting, and this good news has made me more determined to find Rosie.   Tracy

An elderly tabby with white feet, found in Riverhead Near Sevenoaks,
He only has one eye, and it doesn't work - the other has been surgically removed at some time in the past.
I'm not sure which tabby classification he would come into - he is more stripey than swirly, but mainly black with very little brown. He also has a white chin.
Sadly this little cat went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday (23rd Feb) after suffering a stroke.
Sue, he had a stroke, and I took him straight to the vets where he stayed for several hours having palliative care, but they felt the symptoms were irreversible so they put him to sleep later that evening as he was continuing to deteriorate.  He had a lovely couple of weeks here, had healing and lots of cuddles and care, and we were really sad to lose him.  I brought him home and buried him with our other cats.  Debra

ROCHER IS BACK !!!!
Hi Sue,  I have the best news I could hope for...
A neighbour called a couple of hours ago to say that there was a really thin cat that looked like Rocher in their back garden.
I went to see (it was really close to my house, there is a passage that goes to the houses behind mine) and it was him!!!
I called him and he came to me immediately! He looks ok apart from beeing really thin, we are bringing him to the vet tomorrow.
I think Rocher is really happy to be back, he doesn't stop "talking"  (not sure what he is saying...it sounds like a long story !!!)   My other cat is not too happy at the moment (she was getting used to be the only cat) but I'm sure things will be back to normal in a few days.
I will have him chipped (and my other one too), even though it was not what helped us this time, I can see the advantage of it !!
I would like to thank you for all your help.  I am a very, very, very happy person today !!!         thanks       Joanne

Gravesend DA11
Dec. 2005 - Feb. 2006
c0586

Cat found in Singlewell Road, Gravesend , has been around aprox 3 weeks. Not a large cat, it's black and white (faint white line in the middle of the nose and two small fine white patches just under the nose, white whiskers, tummy, chest and paws). It has a very quiet miaow and I would guess it is ‘elderly’. It has a thin tail and seems frail. I had the impression that its eyesight was not good and held my hand out to it to check for reaction, and discovered an unusual trait in this cat – if you hold your hand out to the cat, he smacks it – not aggressively, no claws, just a smack. The photo I took is not good as the cat turned sideways and would not look at the camera straight on, but it does show his chest, tummy and feet. Sorry, I didn't check the sex of the cat.
Sue, just to let you know - I called the lady who found this cat to see if she had any news on the owner yet.  She told me she had been having trouble coping with the cat because his use of the litter tray was a bit hit and miss.  She contacted Last Chance Animal Rescue, who felt his problems might health related, which they assured her they would sort out and then try to rehome.  So that's the latest on this one.

Daisy a 9yr old spayed White cat, with Black cap, Black cow prints from behind the shoulders and sides, Black tail.  Pink nose.
Hi,
Well thanks for all your help but unfortunately this one ends on a bad note, Daisy was handed into the local vets this morning by a woman who had found her in her garden, it seems that  before we knew she was missing the unfortunate had happened
We've decided to bring Daisy back home and bury her at home as we have no plans to move for quite a while we feel its best for us to cope as we then know she will be in her favourite spot, at least we know her soul will be in the right place.  The woman who found her is a true treasure, if it had not been for her then we might not have known what hapened to Daisy for some time if at all.  The sad thing is that she was hit right outside our house, the lady lives nearly opposite, but we feel that she must have been chased by the local ginger tom cat which has been frightening her and her sister as she never went near that road before and always shuddered at the traffic noise.  I will ask the vets that she was taken to to put up a poster and take one to our registered vets also. And will keep my eyes on the sites to hopefully give somone some good news about thier loved ones, even saving one would make it all worth the while.
Thanks       Simon

We have had a small black and white female (I think!) cat living in our front garden for about one month. Mainly black cat with white face, chest and paws. She is not micro-chipped (I took her to the vet to find out). This little girl has now found her forever home with a neighbour of the original finder.

'Scoobie' 29th Sept.2005 - 13th Mar.2006
c0725

Scooby is 6yrs old, Jet Black male, neutered and microchipped & very nervous. He is also minus tail & has a chipped front tooth from an accident.  Home safe tonight with humans that are beside themselves with joy after a lady from just around the corner had managed to track them down since seeing a poster with an out of date phone number on it, seems she had been looking after Scoobie since just before Christmas. Scoobie had only been in his new house for a few days before he decided to get out and explore, getting lost in the process.
Thanks go to the lady who must have knocked on just about every door in the area before finding Scoobies owners, and top marks to Scoobies humans for not giving up on their pet.

'Beau' c.7th Feb.2006 - 14th Mar.2006

She is very small. Black and white, with a full white front and white paw. Very skinny and dirty with no collar. Her eyes are a yellowy colour. She is extremely friendly and appears to be house trained. I have taken her to vets and they scanned for a chip and she doenst have one. Going back next week for jabs and a look over etc... She is much healthier and very happy!! Hates going outside, unless you are out there with her, sleeps on her bed now and has totally settled. She is very affectionate and easy to look after, we couldn't have actually chosen a better cat!

'Oliver' 29.May.2005 - 10th Mar.2006

Oliver home safe in West Wickham

Missing from Luxted Road area of Downe, since Sunday the 29th May. He'd been taken into local rescue in a bit of a state, but was settling in so well that he was given the freedom of the grounds, he obviously decided that there were too many 'boss' cats around and subsequently wandered off  -  Oliver is White/Black age 3 years has a camouflage coloured collar with name barrel on it and would probably be worried about people approaching. He'd had a toe on his back right leg removed and has lots of scratches on his nose...
Oliver has been found in West Wickham aprox 4/5miles away by road. He befriended a lovely lady there who has been looking after him for the past month, she says that when they met, he was in fairly good condition and had obviously been finding food during his journey - it was when she found his entry on MyMoggy, that she contacted the rescue who are over the moon at finding him, but are allowing him to stay with his lady friend who has now officially adopted him - Bless, Moggy loves happy endings :)

Found - Young black male kitty, about 6 to 9 months old, shorthaired, very friendly, fine about being stroked/picked up, amber eyes. Very vocal - chirrups a lot!  No collar, but obviously cared for.  Just to let you know that the owner is now traced, and black kitten is home.   Seems he’s just a bit of a young opportunist.  Nipping in through other catflaps, scoffing food down like he hadn’t eaten in a week, then going home and playing the innocent. Ah well, now he’s been sussed!
Nice one :)

I have found a black (complete) male cat in my garden This poor mog is distinguished by a single white whisker on the left hand side of its face and his upper left canine tooth is missing. It is also quite a large cat.
Hi Sue,  Yeah, it IS a happy ending with Samson. ;-)
He has been to the vets and his blood tests came back all clear regarding all the nasties, so he got the snip and had all his injuries checked out. Surprisingly, the worst one was the toe and pad of his right rear paw, the popped abcess on the other hand checked out fine. He's also been flead, wormed, vaccinated and given antibiotics. The poor lad was stuffed full with worms and had a really bad flea allergy as well as his other problems.
Apparently he appears to have been wandering and / or living as a feral for quite some time.
Samson is now back at Linda's place convalescing in an indoor pen so he can see the other cats and more importantly, people handling the other cats. He is pretty "feraly" and apparently he bit several people at the vet's, but with some careful handling, he should come 'round.
Best of all, Linda already has a home lined up for Samson. A lady running a stables in the area wants an outdoor cat for the stables as opposed to a feral and it seems that Samson fits the bill perfectly. He will be staying at Linda’s for the next three weeks to convalesce and get his second lot of vaccs – then he will go to his new home.
Samson is a very, very lucky cat who now has a promising future ahead of him.  I guess you can now take him off the site and / or say that he has found his home. ;-)

Thanks again for everything,   Witty
